Fernando Muslera was seen as a Manchester United target almost a year ago.

The Galatasaray goalkeeper was in fine form that led to his worldwide attention. United saw him as the perfect replacement for David de Gea, who reportedly was on the verge of joining Spanish club Real Madrid.

However, recent developments prevented such a move since De Gea performed a U-turn and signed a contract with United. He has now become one of the world’s best paid goalkeepers.

Even though his dreams of a move to United have been quashed, Muslera is now intent on moving away from Galatasaray due to various reasons, with the latest Bet365 wetten suggesting that it will be a Premier League club he heads to next.

The club won the league title for a record 20th campaign only last season. This helped them put another star near their badge. However, the 2015-16 campaign has been difficult in every sense. Apart from being set for finish outside the Europa League qualification places, the club have also been banned from participating in any European competition for one season due to heavy losses that did not comply to the financial fair play regulations. Galatasaray are facing the prospect of being outside any form of European football for at least two more three seasons.Muslera is not ready to play at the club primarily for this reason.

The goalkeeper has reportedly instructed his agent to find a new club in the summer.Muslera could be one of the several departures from the Turkish club. However, they are not giving up hopes of being the top dog in Turkish football once again. Galatasaray have recently been interested in Chelsea midfielder John obi Mikel. Reports suggested that they have held the Nigerian star, who has confirmed that he will seek a move away from Stamford Bridge – after almost a decade – if he is not confirmed of a regular place in the starting lineup by new manager Antonio Conte.
