Dirk Kuyt would not feature in the top tier Football in Turkey any more, but, he would always remain one of the most loved players in that part of the world.
It was incredible how much love Kuyt got in Turkey despite being an overseas player.
He was a part of Fenerbahce, but, the fans of the other clubs also gave him a lot of respect.
Even when playing on rival grounds, Kuyt was cheered and there was a reason to it.
The Dutchman always played the game in the right spirits. In his 3-year stint, there was not a single occasion when he was shown the red card or he missed a game due to booking.
Turkey would hold a special corner in Kuyt’s heart also because it’s here that he managed to win a League title for the first time.
The veteran yesterday said in an interview that when his playing days are over, he would like to come to this place again and do something for the welfare of Football.
For the time being, Kuyt is on his way to his own country where he would play for Feyenoord.
Kuyt had earlier represented Feyenoord for three years from 2003 to 2006.
He was actually peaking at the time and was playing his best Football. So, he had been able to make some significant contributions for Feyenoord.
This time around, he is in the twilight of his career. So, there might not be that much expected of him, but, he would definitely like to show that he still has it in him to play top Football.
At most, he would play for a couple more seasons, Kuyt and he would like to produce some good performances over that period.
